Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Not all English Heritage properties are open yet, and those that are require pre-booking via their website.

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for professional advice.

Pevensey Castle

The massive outer walls and gatehouse of one of the Romans' Saxon shore forts, within which the Normans built another oval-shaped castle, now ruined. Parts of the towers, keep, dungeon and chapel remain and Elizabethan catapult balls and cannon can also be seen. Special events are organised in summer.
